Not just for women, our Ice Facial is a non-invasive and pain-free treatment using cryotherapy, or “cold therapy,” to promote healthier, more vibrant skin. Our wellness experts use a controlled beam of vaporized nitrogen to rapidly chill the face, scalp, and neck. Treatment lasts for about 12 minutes and is ideal to reduce puffiness around the eyes. Ice Facials can offer relief from headaches and migraines.
An ice facial is part of the overall cryotherapy movement in personal care. There are a variety of cryo treatments that you can try at our Charlotte spa that can help with everything from relieving pain, improving health, to enhancing beauty. An ice facial can be used for both.
What is an ice facial?
If you are looking for a revolutionary new way to make your skin look better and recapture a younger glow, a cryotherapy facial is a great place to start. It is a cryogenic treatment, in which a controlled beam of vaporized nitrogen is used to chill the face, scalp, and neck area. It stimulates collagen production, helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and minimizes pores. The treatment also reduces swelling and puffiness including bags under the eyes. In addition, applying freezing temperatures to your head and neck can provide relief from chronic headaches and migraines by dulling the sensation of pain.
How does an ice facial work?
Our trained ice facial technicians will use a hand-held device to emit a beam of nitrogen at a temperature below negative 200 degrees Fahrenheit (-200 degrees Fahrenheit). It is applied by our Charlotte cryo-facial experts to the forehead, cheeks, nose, neck and chin. Rapidly chilling the skin causes blood to rush away from the face, as blood returns it kick-starts collagen production to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. This process is called accelerated micro-circulation.
What are the benefits of an ice facial?
One of the premier benefits of an ice facial is the stimulation of new collagen. It restores firmness to the skin, as well as tightening it. Cryotherapy facials make skin more radiant, and improve its tone and texture. It can even ease the redness caused by acne and rosacea because of its ability to reduce and even eliminate inflammation. After experiencing a cryofacial at The Invigory, many clients report intense relief from headaches and migraines.
While you can reap numerous benefits from a single trip to our Charlotte wellness studio, you will achieve longer lasting results with multiple visits. We're happy to make recommendations to suit your needs and schedule.
Frequently asked questions.
Does a cryotherapy facial tighten skin? Yes, it does. A cryotherapy facial tightens skin even on the first treatment, by shrinking pores. It continues to tighten skin after the first treatment and with subsequent ones by stimulating the production of new collagen under the skin.
What does a cryo facial do to your body? Our Charlotte cryo facials will help you look and feel your best. Unlike most other types of facials, there is no redness or tingling after the treatment. You simply look younger and feel refreshed and alert. The cold air does not hurt, in fact, most people even find it extremely soothing.
